Chestnut wood for parquet and furniture

These photos show one of our creations where we asked to give an aesthetic continuity to an existing wardrobe that had to be aesthetically “tied” to the parquet. The parquet was made using old beams from the house, found in the courtyard that were used as a pile of wood to sit on.

By analyzing the type of wood in our laboratory, it was possible to perform color and aesthetic samples for the customer who decided to perform a antique wooden parquet with its own wood, in several widths, at important lengths to give grandeur to the home environment. With the “leftovers of wood” cut to make parquet, small beams were made, small inserts in the wall cabinet that in this photograph can be seen disassembled of the doors and cabinet doors. The photo is taken during the works in the imminence of being finished.

In this case ours cooking in our dryers wanted to give strength to the old wood and an exclusive and refined taste, also underlined by the aesthetic appeal of the parquet on the wall cabinet, already existing in the house – and only modified. The final result is a design house where the colors and fibers of the wood on the parquet and on the furniture return and recall the floor and wall. It seems that everything has been thought of from the beginning …

In this case the color appears similar to dark oak, but it is a recovered antique chestnut wood.  This wood is “in the wood hardness scale” equal to oak wood, but offers great dimensional stability over time and when properly dried, it has given a thermal conductivity in the underfloor heating, here present under the parquet.
